Celebrate Fourth of July weekend with La Porte at the Red Wine and Brew 2019 Local Heroes Benefit and concert on Stone Lake Beach on July 3rd, coordinated by Bethany Lutheran Church and numerous community sponsors. This year, rising country stars will be featured such as Lainey Wilson, Tenille Arts and Dillon Carmichael, alongside famous country music artist, Rodney Atkins.

The tasting includes a plethora of the area’s best wine and beer. Tasting ends at 6pm, and the cast bar will remain open until 9pm. See the array of options below.

Calumet College of St. Joseph (CCSJ) held their 54th Annual Trustees’ Scholarship Gala Saturday evening. Named “Light the Way for Students,” the gala raised the funds to help make students’ dreams come true. 300 people, all wearing elegant attire, attended the gala, despite the surprising late April snow. Attendees ranged from students, alumni, trustees, professors, benefactors, and friends of CCSJ. They enjoyed cocktails, hor d’oeuvres, live music by Phase4 Band, a raffle, a phenomenal meal, and dancing.

The 39th Annual Hub Run


Men, women and children of Northwest Indiana braved the cold weather Saturday morning to run in the 5K timed and 2K fun Hub Run at Bulldog Park in Crown Point. More than one thousand participants took over the streets of Crown Point in the 39th Annual Hub Run that benefits income-based scholarships and programs at the local Dean & Barbara White Southlake Family YMCA.
