Hilltop Neighborhood House 15th Annual Soup Dinner


Nothing beats the past few weeks of cold weather outside better than a warm bowl of soup! Hillltop Neighborhood House is having its 15th Annual Heartwarming Soups & Hometown Entertainment Event on Tuesday February 25, 2014 at Christ Lutheran Church on 2610 N. Campbell Street in Valparaiso. First Seating is 4:00 PM-5:45 PM 2nd Seating begins at 6:00 PM-7:00 PM Adults are $25 Children 12 and under are $10.

Come down and enjoy all you can eat hot soups from 17 local area restaurants, coffee and tea bar provided by Family Express and deserts from Strongbows, Wild Flower Bakery and the First United Methodist Church of Valparaiso. Vote for your favorite soup! All the proceeds from the event will be used to provide “scholarships”, for children of low-income families needing assistance at the Hilltop Childcare and Summer Programs.

Hilltop Neighborhood House currently provides full-time childcare and preschool for 78 children. In addition, another 67 school-aged children participate in our separate afterschool and summer activity programs. Currently, 70% of the children enrolled in our childcare program come from low-income families and receive “scholarships” or tuition assistance (with a waiting list for some age groups over a year long.) And all afterschool programs are free to children in the Hilltop neighborhood. Last year, during 2013, Hilltop Neighborhood House provided more than $215,000, to families in Valparaiso who needed financial assistance for their children’s care.
