Yesterday, I went to go check on the wonderfully robust ValpoLife Facebook page (Become a fan!). On my way there, as most Facebook users will be familiar with, I checked on my “News Feed”. I used quotations there on purpose. The top, most recent activity of my Facebook friends, apparently known as news, was my aunt, who wanted to let everyone know that she was making a sandwich and she’d be back right after.
The most confusing part? Three people commented on that statement.
A new Web site launched last week will provide information on all the best that the city of Valparaiso has to offer.
ValpoLife.com has been designed to keep Valparaiso residents updated on events that are happening downtown, festivals, school announcements and information on art and culture to be found within the city.
Gmail calls it the 'Undo Send' feature, which allows its users to take back an email if they catch it quick enough. We have all accidentally hit 'Reply All' instead of just 'Reply', sending an email to unwanted, and potentially embarrassing recipients. This problem is potentially fixed with this feature, which keep the email in your outbox for five seconds before the message begins to process.
I know I usually reserve this space for ranting about sports or legal gambling, but ValpoLife.com just completed its first week and a half of officially being a central source for Valparaiso's citizenry. What a crazy week it has been.
